Just a reminder that it is important that you inform the Stillorgan Hotel that you are part of the conference if booking a room with them. They are holding rooms for the conference so must know who is part of the conference party. Please let us know asap if you have booked already without telling them so that we can let them know.

Conference Accommodation

Here are three options for conference accommodation which have been kindly suggested by UCD:

1) Stillorgan Park Hotel,Stillorgan Road, Dublin, Ireland

Twenty rooms have been reserved at the Stillorgan Park Hotel near UCD. Obviously it would make sense if people arranged to share rooms rather than incur the expense of sole occupancy. The conference dinner will also be held in this hotel (details to follow).

2) The Raddisson Blu St Helen’s Hotel Stillorgan Rd, Blackrock Dublin 4, Co. Dublin also have a very limited number of rooms available.
When booking ask for the UCD rate. Rooms cost €120.

3) Bewley’s Hotel, Leopardstown is relatively close to UCD (you will need to take a taxi to and from the college) It is, however convenient for the M50.
Rooms are 99 euro per room, 10 euro extra for breakfast, 60 rooms left at this price.

There are also a number of Bed and Breakfasts in the area. Again, early booking is advisable.

Planning for the 5th All Ireland Conference for Doctoral Researchers in Education is underway! The title of the conference this year is: ‘Understanding, Collaboration and Synergy: Building a Community of Doctoral Researchers in Education.’ Please submit abstracts of no more than 150 words by the 2nd of March through the following link:

New Poster UCD

Jointly hosted by the School of Education, University College Dublin and Queen’s University Belfast and generously funded by the Standing Conference on Teacher Education, North and South (SCoTENS), Educational Studies Association of Ireland (ESAI), QUB and UCD, the 3rd Doctoral Conference for Researchers in Education provided an inspirational space for doctoral students from all over Ireland to discuss their research and extend their understanding of advanced research in education.
